Teachers from Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology visited Tsinghua High School

3月21~28日,Three teachers from Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology (TJ) in the United States (Mr. Charles dela Cuesta, director of the Robotics Laboratory),Mr. Craig Lewis, Director of Engineering Design Laboratory, and Mr. Shane Torbert, Director of Computer Systems Laboratory, led by Ms. Tinell Priddy, Vice President, visited Tsinghua High School,To guide the construction and development of four advanced research laboratories (robotics, energy, geographic information and computer laboratories) in the High School Attached to Tsinghua University。President Wang Dianjun, Vice President Du Yuzhen and Deputy Secretary Zhang Jie attended the reception。President Wang Dianjun delivered a welcome speech, hoping that the two sides can continue to strengthen exchanges and cooperation, and work together for the scientific and technological innovation and training of students。

During the period, a total of 46 teaching staff including 6 teachers from the High Research Laboratory of Tsinghua High School, young teachers from the teaching and research group of physics, chemistry, biology and technology, and science and technology teachers from the integrated school participated in the exchange activities。The teachers of the two schools respectively exchanged and communicated on laboratory construction, laboratory hardware equipment, student project development, TJ's unique IBET comprehensive curriculum system and the development and planning of science and technology festival。In addition, the visiting teachers of TJ also discussed with the staff of the General Technology Group of Tsinghua High School to promote network resource sharing and accelerate data transmission, hoping to further deepen the cooperation between the two schools。The construction of existing robotics, energy, geographic information and computer LABS and student projects at Tsinghua High School have been guided and praised by visiting teachers from Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology。In the future, Tsinghua High School will gradually carry out the construction of high research laboratories in chemistry and biology。

Tsinghua High School and Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology (Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology) signed a cooperation agreement at the Chinese Embassy in the United States on April 18, 2014, aiming to establish joint research projects, build joint laboratories, and cooperate in curriculum and faculty exchanges。At the end of 2015, three teachers from Tsinghua High School went to TJ to observe and study, and had a deep understanding of the construction concept, operation plan and related curriculum of the advanced laboratory of Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology。The visit of Thomas Jefferson Science and Technology High School teachers is a return visit to the United States for the teachers of Tsinghua High School。
